My experience in Adlershof has been wonderful, it was the perfect apartment for me as well as the sense of community, the helpful reception. It’s proximity to various supermarkets, stores, restaurants and transportation. And a significant part of this experience is thanks to Hanan Moussa.

From the beginning, she made the daunting task of finding student accommodation in Berlin stress-free. Hanan's availability, quick responses, and friendly demeanor was the support I needed throughout the process.

What sets Hanan apart is her exceptional assistance during my initial move to Berlin. And now during my transition to a new location of Neon Wood. Despite my initial enjoyment in Adlershof, I wanted to be more centrally located and near my university. Hanan helped me smoothly navigate this switch. She efficiently explained the requirements, guided me through the process, and ensured everything was completed within less than two weeks.

I'm immensely grateful for Hanan's support during my six months in a new city. Her dedication to making the housing aspect seamless deserves recognition within her company.

I want to start with the positives. The location is very good, I lived close to my campus and had a variety of supermarkets in walking distance.
Moreover, some of the common areas were nice, e.g. the TV in the laundry room.
Furthermore, this was essentially the only thing I could easily book from abroad (the booking process absolutely sucked, but at least they would rent to me without a Schufa).

Unfortunately, I wish they had denied me a rental agreement, anything else would have been better than living here.

First of all, the room was tiny (I was aware of that) and depressing. The furniture is a cold black and the concrete walls made me feel like I was in a prison cell.Everything gathers dust and fingerprints very fast. I hated staying in my room and avoided it at all costs. I do have to say that the bathroom was nice.
Moreover, the furnishing was cheap, my mattress was very uncomfortable and thin, the 'vintage' chair they provided you is the most uncomfortable one I've ever had the unfortune to sit in.

Studying in the common area is impossible since there is also a TV in the same room.

Tenants don't know basic respect. There was loud music at all times of day, until deep into the night. Sleeping with the window open during summer was near impossible. I was extatic every time it rained because that meant people would finally go inside. My room smelled like cigarettes and weed a lot of the time. The courtyard was in complete disorder every day, littered with empty bottles and other trash.

The laundrette is a joke. They provide four washing machines for over 200 people. Ironically, you could be certain that one of them was nonfonctional at any given time, with no indication of it being fixed anytime soon. They charge you 4.30€ for a washing cycle in a tiny washing machine. The dryers are nauseatingly disgusting because no one bothers to take out the amassed linen. I would rather haul my dirty laundry 800km by train to wash back at home than to wash anything here.

The rent is unreasonably high, but they know that they can ride it up that high because someone will be desperate enough to pay them that amount.
They preach quality student housing, but all I've experienced is a soulles, shallow cash-grab. I am counting the days until I can finally move out of this hell-hole.

If you plan to live here, I would strongly urge you to reconsider, I would not wish this experience on anyone.

Outstanding place to live in as a student. The apartments are in good shape, furniture is high-end and all the amenities are there including a gym, study area, laundrette, social kitchen, vending machines and two rooftop terraces perfect for socializing. Garden is beautiful and daily taken care of. I couldn't be more content with my apartment.

The compound is highly safe with a tenant-only electronic access. Despite not being central, the location is conveniently surrounded by daily life necessities. Two supermarkets and a mcdonald's are in front of the building. Multiple DHL and Amazon lockers surround the compound. A third supermarket is 200 meters away. Multiple restaurants are nearby: Vietnamese, Indian, Turkish, Mexican, Italian and even a Greek restaurant. Kaufland and S-Bahn station are a 5 minute walking distance. There's also a DM and an Edeka that stays open until midnight within a 10-minute walk.

A special shout-out to Muriel and colleagues for the excellent welcoming, seamless on-boarding and for making sure a special request happen.

Can’t wait to move out. Service has been on the decline since I moved in, last September.
Every basic service is extremely expensive including onsite card replacements, even though these plastic cards cost ~30 cents.

They gave us mobile access as an excuse to raise the price for a key replacement from €70 to €90.

We didn’t have hot water for 4 days, which imo is utterly ridiculous.

we *used* to have vending machines, now they’ve removed them.

Can’t wait to move out, but i’m locked into the contract until September.

As a new resident to Germany, the Neon Wood Community is one the main reasons I could settle in properly. The staff are extremely helpful and take their time to explain and help with many of your questions. I mostly encountered Muriel and she was extremely quick, efficient and friendly.
The community is also amazing and diverse. I am not a very social person yet very soon after joining, I found myself in a WhatsApp group filled with other expats.
One final thing to mention is its amazing location. It is right next to an Aldi's and McDonald's and the main street is within walking distance and has a lot of restaurants and shops.
